Overseas star Colin Ingram has departed for the Caribbean Premier League after another stellar season for the Welsh county.
Ingram will be unavailable for Glamorgan’s final Royal London Cup fixture against Worcestershire tomorrow and last four LV= County Championship matches.
The hard-hitting left-hander has been in breath-taking form for the Club this season, starring in both red-ball and white-ball cricket.
He struck 569 runs in just five County Championship appearances, which included three centuries and has been an integral part of the side’s push for promotion to Division One.
In the 50-over competition, he scored 342 runs at an average of 68, including a career-best 155 in a record-breaking win over the Kent Spitfires.
"This season it's been great to be part of the various formats again,” said Ingram.
“As a batter, you are always hungry to score more but I have enjoyed the experience and my time out at the middle. I've felt my game has been really organised. I am hoping to take that with me into whatever comes next.”
“Our side is playing really well. We have a good bowling attack which has allowed us to win games. I sort of fed off of that and I've enjoyed a second chance to come back and try and put a few things into play that I hadn’t done in the early part of my career.
Although Ingram is disappointed to miss the final few matches of the season, he is confident the side can continue their good form and reach Division One of the LV= County Championship.
“It is going to be hard not to be here (for the final month) to be honest. If I looked a good couple of months back, I would have wanted to be around for that big moment,” added Ingram.
“That squad in particular is in a really good place and has found a good format, a good method and has a great confidence amongst the group. I have got no doubt that we'll go up this year and I will enjoy that.
"All I can say is that I hope to be back and hopefully we'll have some good news in the next couple of weeks.”
