England bowler James Anderson could feature in the ODIs against Sri Lanka and Pakistan, he revealed in an interview yesterday.
Anderson, 33, was speaking to BBC's Scott Read and said he would 'love' to be a part of the thriving England T20 and ODI teams under Trevor Bayliss this summer.
Bayliss has favoured pacemen Chris Jordan, Liam Plunkett, David Willey and Steven Finn but Anderson says he wants to contribute to the team, who have won many fans in the past 12 months playing an exciting brand of cricket.
Anderson said: "I’d like to (be involved). The progression of England’s One-Day and Twenty20 side in the last 12 months has been fantastic. If they think me helping that along would help the team then that’s great.
"I’d love to have another chance to play 50-over cricket or T20 cricket with England but we’ll have to wait and see.”
Anderson also spoke about his relationship with opening bowler Stuart Broad.
He added: "It’s an odd relationship, we support each other which hasn’t always been the case with opening bowlers for England. Me and Stuart enjoy bowling together and we enjoy each other’s company away from cricket. It’s nice to have that bond and we work well together and that helps us on the field."
The Lancastrian is still hungry for wickets, with the goal of 500 Test wickets now firmly in his sight.
"Every time I turn up to practice I’m trying to find that edge which will help me to keep taking wickets," he added.
