County Championship: Week 16 Preview

Glamorgan\'s Specsavers County Championship clash with Sussex is just one of six matches taking place around the country this week. Here\'s a statistical preview to the fixtures, courtesy of Opta.

Durham v Warwickshire

Glamorgan v Sussex

-Daniel Bell-Drummond (Kent) has averaged 102 from his 14 first-class innings this summer.

Leicestershire v Essex

-The last four meetings between these counties have seen the winner alternate; Leicestershire won in the most recent encounter (June 2016).
-Essex are unbeaten in eight successive matches in Leicester (D3 W5); claimed victory in their last three there.
-Essex have only lost once in their last eight matches on the road (W3 D4).
-Graham Napier (Essex) comes into this match as the first bowler to take 50 County Championship wickets this summer.
-Ravi Bopara (Essex) has the best average of any bowler to take 25+ wickets this campaign (20.2).

Worcestershire v Northamptonshire

-Worcestershire have won back-to-back matches against Northants.
-Worcestershire have the opportunity to win successive matches away in Northamptonshire for the first time this century.
-Northants have only lost once across their last nine matches; that defeat coming at the hands of Worcestershire (W1 D7).
-Joe Leach (Worcestershire) has now taken 50+ first-class wickets in back-to-back summers.
-Rob Newton posted his highest ever first-class score in Northamptonshire’s most recent outing (202* v Leicestershire).
