Cricketing World Wishes Cosker Well

19 Aug 2016 | Cricket
Dean Cosker\'s retirement from the professional game yesterday sparked an influx of well-wishes and messages to the Glamorgan spinner from around the cricketing world.

Cosker, 38, who was the only member of the County Championship winning 1997 side still playing, had enjoyed a 21-year career with the Welsh county, taking 597 first-class wickets in 247 matches.

The left-armer also became the first Glamorgan player to reach 100 wickets in T20 cricket in a Man Of The Match display against Surrey this season.

His retirement was greeted with a flood of good-luck messages from current and former professional cricketers.

Glamorgan Head Coach Robert Croft led the tributes to Cosker with his tweet which read: "Congrats Dean Cosker on an excellent career with Glamorgan. You made a positive difference to Glamorgan Cricket! It's been a pleasure!"

Current Glamorgan quick bowler Michael Hogan tweeted: "Congratulations Dean Cosker on a fantastic playing career. 20 years in the game you must be doing something right.
