Croft Wants Glamorgan To Show Resilience

Head Coach Robert Croft wants Glamorgan to call upon all of their resilience and experience in bouncing back from their defeat against Hampshire at Swansea yesterday.

Glamorgan slipped to a 186-run defeat at St Helen's, Swansea, after Liam Dawson's hundred set up a formidiable total of 316. The Welsh county replied with 130 all out, with only Craig Meschede (45) offering any resistance.

Croft was keen for his side to put the loss to the back of their minds, with some important cricket ahead – including next Thursday's home T20 quarter-final against Yorkshire at The SSE SWALEC.

"Hampshire were better than us with the bat, with the ball and in the field, no excuses – they taught us a lesson in how to bat and bowl on that surface," reflected Croft after the game.

"The important thing is not to dwell to much on it because in ten days' time, we've got an opportunity coming up [to reach T20 Finals Day].

"We've got a lot of experienced players, and part of that is resilience, so I expect that not to have any hangover next week."

Glamorgan travel to Surrey today (Monday) in their final Royal London One Day Cup match, needing a comprehensive win and other results to fall in their favour, if they are to secure a quarter-final spot.

All-rounder Meschede, who stood out with both bat and ball, was adamant that Glamorgan's T20 form could continue against Yorkshire.

He said: "I dont think this defeat won't affect morale too much, because we've had a good run in white ball cricket and hopefully we can carry our T20 form into the quarter-final on Thursday."
