Glamorgan Cricket are delighted to announce that Marchant de Lange has signed a new two-year deal that will see him remain at the club until at least the end of the 2021 season.
De Lange joined the Welsh county in 2017 and has played a major part for the club in all three formats of the game since his arrival.
He helped Glamorgan reach T20 Finals Day in 2017 taking 18 wickets in the competition and was the Welsh county’s top wicket-taker during this year’s Royal London One-Day Cup campaign with 16 dismissals.
Overall, the South African fast bowler has taken 305 First-Class wickets during his career, as well as 169 List A and 106 T20 scalps.
Director of cricket, Mark Wallace, said: “It’s excellent news Marchant has signed an extension with the club.
“He gives us that X-factor with his extra pace, and is a wicket taking bowler in both red and white-ball cricket.
“I think the exciting thing about Marchant is that he is still developing, he’s eager to learn and is totally committed to the club’s direction moving forward."
On signing his contract extension, de Lange, said: “It’s a pleasure to be able to sign a new deal and commit my future to Glamorgan.
“I have been able to find a second home in Cardiff, and I have loved being a part of the team environment.
“I feel like I am really starting to find my feet here, and I hope I can continue to take lots more wickets for the club in the years to come.”
