Glamorgan's Aneurin Donald is looking forward to continuing his overseas cricketing exploits in 2016 as the Under 19 Cricket World Cup in Bangladesh which begins at the end of January draws closer.
Donald who has been spending the winter at the Darren Lehman Cricket Academy in Adelaide, will link up with his England Under 19s colleagues in Dubai at the end of next week as preparations step up ahead of the tournament.
Australia have withdrawn from competing in the tournament due to security fears with Ireland invited to take their place, but Donald doesn't have concerns about player safety
The ECB have been very strict and have sent many security guys and have been speaking to the Bangladesh Cricket Board.
They are pretty happy with it going ahead. We have made preparations and we are going to have security and we will be monitoring things.
We can't wait to get out there. It will be a great experience to play on a world stage.
Donald captained the England Under-19s in their Royal London One-Day Series against Australia last summer and has been brought back after missing the recent triangular tournament against India and Sri Lanka in Colombo.
The England squad will leave for a week of practice in Dubai on January 14, including a warm-up match against South Africa on January 18, before flying on to Bangladesh two days later.
England will open their campaign against Fiji in Chittagong on January 27, with further group games against West Indies and Zimbabwe.
This will be the 11th running of the tournament since it began in 1988, with England's sole win coming 10 years later when a team captained by Owais Shah and including Graeme Swann and Rob Key beat New Zealand in the final in Johannesburg.
Donald has spent the winter at the Darren Lehman Cricket Academy in Adelaide in a bid to hone his burgeoning talent and hopes to become the first Glamorgan player to represent to play for an England senior side since Simon Jones in 2005.
The World Cup will be a fantastic experience, added Donald.
I have been involved in the England Under-19 set-up since I was 15 and it is always a high standard.
I enjoy playing all sorts of forms. My game is generally suited to limited overs cricket at the moment.
I would like to try and come back and break into a representative England side in one-day cricket.
Hopefully I can make some scores and contribute and that can catapult me up the ladder.
The main target is to play for England. If you don't have that ambition aged 19 to become the next Glamorgan guy to achieve that there is no point in me playing, That's the dream.
But Donald, who has signed a three-year deal with Glamorgan, knows he has to perform in county cricket. The academy graduate scored 59 on his first-class debut against Hampshire in the final game of 2014
Following the completion of his A-Levels earlier this summer, made regular appearances for Glamorgan before narrowly missing out on a maiden championship century with a career-best 98 against Gloucestershire in the last match of the 2015 season.
I've been given an opportunity with Glamorgan and I know some of the other Under-19 guys at other counties don't get that chances I have, added Donald.
I have to take them and try and nail down a spot with Glamorgan and try and dominate that level.
Getting to Division One is the main target. We started off very well in the county championship last year with four consecutive wins although we tailed off towards the end.
We have the talent to do well in four-day cricket and we have shown in the last couple of seasons we have the potential to win a one-day trophy and that would be nice.
We have some talented younger players and also some good old heads.
