The third and final NatWest International T20 between England and South Africa at The SSE SWALEC today (Sunday 25 June) is now a capacity sell out.
The news comes after the final release of tickets were snapped up this morning for the crucial clash, which will see Eoin Morgan’s side aim to secure a two-one series win at the home of Glamorgan CCC.
South Africa’s visit to The SSE SWALEC provides England’s third appearance at the ground this year, having beaten New Zealand before missing out on an ICC Champions Trophy final spot against eventual tournament winners Pakistan.
Following on from sell-out England internationals in 2015, 2016 and this year, The SSE SWALEC will once again introduce international cricket to a new generation of fans today, with an allocation of 500 tickets given to local community cricket clubs enrolled in the All Stars Cricket programme.
A number of engaging, free of charge children’s activities, including All Stars Cricket coaching sessions, speed bowling challenge, giant inflatables, Climbing Wall, along with live music and a big screen in the Fanzone area, will again be a feature of The SSE SWALEC international match day experience for spectators.
“Following an exciting ICC Champions Trophy, this T20 International Series has captured the public imagination and we’re delighted that there has been such high demand to see the finale,” said Hugh Morris, Glamorgan chief executive.
“Continuing our aim to open the gates of The SSE SWALEC to the new customers, we’re expecting a family audience today and we can’t wait to host another brilliant international cricket spectacle in the Welsh capital.
“Almost 45,000 tickets have been sold for England internationals in Cardiff in the last three weeks and we are pleased to record another sell-out for the third successive season."
The NatWest International T20 gets underway at 2.30pm today.
