It hasn\'t been a good week for Shaminda Eranga, with the Sri Lankan bowler currently in hospital for heart tests, before being banned from bowling by the ICC (International Cricket Council).
The Sri Lankan quick was suspended due to having a suspect action – only hours after being admitted to hospital when he felt discomfort during the tourists' ODI victory against Ireland last week.
"He was OK and stable and we're awaiting the results," said a Sri Lanka Cricket spokesman.
The 29-year-old's bowling action was reported during the second Test against England at Chester-le-Street in May.
Eranga was tested on June 6 at the National Cricket Performance Centre in Loughborough, which is accredited by the ICC – only for that to return a negative verdict.
"The assessment revealed that all deliveries exceeded the 15 degrees level of tolerance permitted under the regulations," said an ICC statement.
Eranga, who has played 41 times for Sri Lanka across all three formats, is still able to play domestic cricket in Sri Lanka, with the consent of the country's cricket board and can apply for a reassessment of his action once it has been modified.
It means the paceman will not appear in the Royal London ODI series, which concludes at The SSE SWALEC, Cardiff on July 2. Sri Lanka face England in the first ODI at Trent Bridge on Tuesday.
