Four Glamorgan stars to feature in The Hundred

Four Glamorgan players will feature in the first edition of The Hundred in 2021, with David Lloyd set to feature at Sophia Gardens with Welsh Fire.

Chris Cooke had already been announced as one of Birmingham Phoenix retained players, and will likely feature as wicket-keeper in a line-up also featuring Kane Williamson, Shaheen Shah Afridi and Moeen Ali. The Glamorgan skipper is ranked as one of the best finishers in the Blast and is one of the quickest accelerators in the game.

Colin Ingram's change in domestic qualification satus led to his selection as one of Oval Invincibles' overseas players, along with Sunil Narine and Sandeep Lamichhane. Timm van der Gugten was drafted by Trent Rockets after another strong year in the Blast in 2020 and will team up with former Glamorgan loanee Samit Patel.

David Lloyd has been selected for Welsh Fire and could feature at his home ground of Sophia Gardens alongside global superstar Kieron Pollard, dynamic Australian quick Jhye Richardson, Afghani wizard Qais Ahmad and England star Jonny Bairstow.

Wales' own Alex Griffiths will play alongside Australia captain Meg Lanning for the Women's team with all eight Welsh Fire home games at Sophia Gardens this summer, and to be played back-to-back across the four match-days.
