Head Coach Robert Croft says the future for the county looks bright, despite a the disappointing end to the campaign with four defeats in the final five fixtures of the Championship season.
"The position in the league is disappointing, but it's encouraging [to see] where our next wave of players are coming from," Croft said.
"I'll take time to reflect on the season as a whole. We need to identify challenging areas, and work out formulas to eradicate that.
"Short term, it's been disappointing but for the future it looks bright. Aneurin has come in, Kiran Carlson has come in, Nick Selman, and Timm [van der Gugten] in his first [county] season," added Croft.
One redeeming factor for Glamorgan supporters has been the emergence of young talent, with Aneurin Donald, Nick Selman, Kiran Carlson and Owen Morgan all hitting centuries, while teenage seamer Lukas Carey claimed 13 wickets in three matches to top the Championship bowling averages.
"At the start of the season I wasn't sure where my cricket was heading," admitted Owen Morgan, "but with nine first-class games, I'm in a better place going into this winter.
"I'll be still working hard on the bowling, keep the batting up alongside that and hopefully become a genuine all-rounder."
Glamorgan's Player of the Year Timm van der Gugten who will play for the Netherlands in the New Year, completed his debut first-class season as Glamorgan's leading wicket-taker in Championship cricket and accumlatively across all formats.
"It's been a bit of a shock to the season, but resting a couple of games has helped me. Hopefully I can bowl as many overs next season if not a few more," he said.
"It has's been a good learning curve and hopefully I can take it into next season."
