Glamorgan 2nd XI lost by eight wickets to Somerset 2nd XI at Spytty Park, Newport in their next match in the Second Eleven T20 competition.
The Welsh county batted first and amassed 173-7 thanks to a quickfire 43 off 24 balls from Ruaidhri Smith and 46 from Callum Taylor. Connor Brown also made an unbeaten 40 to see Glamorgan through to the 20-over mark. Tom Banton then launched the Somerset run chase with a rapid 38 from 16 balls before Will Smeed made a 32-ball half-century. Ben Wells also made an unbeaten 45 before Smeed departed for 74 with just five runs needed as Somerset reached their target in the 17th over.
