Glamorgan Cricket has joined forces with acclaimed Cardiff chef and restaurateur, Anand George to celebrate the hotly-anticipated Royal London One-Day International between England and India which will take place at the SWALEC Stadium next week.
As England prepare to go head to head with the current Cricket World Champions in a spectacular summer showdown, Glamorgan are busy doing everything possible to welcome the arrival of one of cricket's biggest international teams to Cardiff.

Keen cricket fan, Anand - the driving force behind the multi-award winning Purple Poppadom in Canton - has been invited to provide fans with some of the finest Nouvelle Indian Cuisine the city has to offer and Glamorgan Captain Mark Wallace and England Lions player James Harris were more than happy to take part in a taste test ahead of the big match!

Swapping curry making tips for cricketing insight, Anand and his team were put through their paces in a cricketing skills session led by the Glamorgan stars.

Speaking about the partnership, Anand said:

Everyone at Purple Poppadom are passionate about cricket and we have our own weekend team. Quite a lot of the Glamorgan players come to the restaurant and we are proud to have hosted cricketing greats including Brian Lara and Sourav Ganguly. The whole team is looking forward to being a part of this exciting sporting event in Cardiff.

Happy to indulge in the fine food on offer, Glamorgan's Club Captain Mark Wallace added:

With just a week to go, the excitement is really building ahead of the England v India ODI. It's the only international match in Wales this year and India fans travel from all over to make a carnival atmosphere, so it's not to be missed.

Anand is also easily one of the top chefs in Wales, as well as a massive cricket fan, so it's great that he has joined us to be part of the hottest sporting event taking place in Wales this summer.
