Glamorgan 2nd XI defeated Yorkshire 2nd XI in their opening Second Eleven Trophy match of the season at the SWALEC Stadium by four wickets under the Duckworth-Lewis Method.
After Glamorgan had invited to Yorkshire to bat first, the visitor's innings was twice interrupted by the weather as the contest was reduced from 50 overs to 45 per side. The Tykes ended up amassing 164 in 44.1 overs with John Glover claiming 3/30 whilst there were two wickets apiece for Andrew Salter and Lucas Carey, the young seamer from Pontarddulais.

Glamorgan then slipped to 38/4 before triallist Alex Mellor (47) and Jeremy Lawlor (40) shared a half-century stand to seize the initiative back in the favour of the Welsh county. Wicket-keeper Gary Knight also chipped in with an unbeaten 36 as Glamorgan reached their target in the 42nd over.
