South African international Wayne Parnell is set to play his final home game for Glamorgan in the NatWest T20 Blast as Surrey visit The SSE SWALEC tonight (6.30pm).
Parnell is selected in a 12-man Glamorgan squad aiming to return to winning ways and secure another victory against Surrey, after the record-breaking victory in the opening NatWest T20 Blast weekend at The Kia Oval.
Glamorgan have won four and lost four so far in the competition and with two home games remaining Head Coach Toby Radford is keen to turn things round, after the disappointment of last weekend.
It's been a bit stop-start so far in this campaign, said Radford. We had a terrific run and then thought we played well at Essex but just couldn't get over the line and then didn't turn up at all last Sunday and we were all very disappointed with the performance against Sussex.
Wayne Parnell returns to the side and helps us freshen things up and we are very capable of going well in T20 as we have been in the Championship.
After tonight's clash with Surrey, the Welsh county travel to Taunton to play Somerset on Sunday a venue Glamorgan secured their first win at last year for the first time in 10 years.
It's a big weekend for us, here tonight and then at Taunton where we had a good win last year against Somerset so we know this weekend is very important for us in terms of where we are going in this competition, it will be decisive.
Captain Jacques Rudolph praised the influence of his fellow South African Wayne Parnell on the campaign so far.
Wayne has been brilliant around the dressing room by sharing his knowledge with the guys and on top of that he has bowled really well for us, added Rudolph.
I know the last game didn't go well for us, but hopefully we can get away with two wins this weekend which we know is a massive challenge and he can fly to Bangladesh on Monday knowing he has helped us over the line.
