Glamorgan selectors have named a 14-man squad for their Friday’s Finale Vitality Blast game against Somerset.

Glamorgan will welcome their local rivals for their last game of the 2024 Vitality Blast competition on Friday evening. The game starts at 7pm and the squad are keen to end their Blast campaign on winning form as they move on to the Metro Bank One Day Cup next week.

This will be Marnus Labuschagne’s final game of the season for Glamorgan and he will be hoping to continue the form which made him Player of the Match away to Kent on Tuesday. His brilliant 50*(26) helped the team post 145/6 in a rain-affected 13-over thriller.

Timm van der Gugten and Dan Douthwaite bowling was critical in defending the score for the victory.

Sam Northeast is still being rested to recover from his hamstring injury, and Ben Morris and Henry Hurle return to the squad.

The full squad is as follows:
05/ Kiran Carlson (C)
13/ Tom Bevan
46/ Chris Cooke
03/ Mason Crane
88/ Dan Douthwaite

08/ Ben Kellaway

View from the Camp – Grant Bradburn

“While there is a hollow feeling in the camp knowing we cannot reach a top 4 position this year, there is also fierce determination to continue to progress our skills and find more consistency in the winning brand we want to play.

“Club wide we are desperate to portray an attractive brand of cricket which excites, entertains and grows our home fan base. Marnus has been outstanding again this year and has really showed his growing skills as an allrounder in this format. His outstanding fielding has lifted us as a unit and we will draw upon Marnus’s infectious energy as a team, for his final game of this season, tomorrow night.”

Tickets for Glamorgan's final home game against Somerset at 7pm this Friday, 19 July are £3 for Under-17s and start at £13 for adults. They are available here.
