Head Coach Matt Maynard has named a 13-player squad for tomorrow's LV= County Championship clash with Derbyshire.
25-year-old left-arm spinner Rhodri Lewis and 19-year-old seamer Ben Morris make their first appearance in a Championship squad.
Both have featured heavily for the second eleven this season. Lewis has taken 13 wickets in the Second XI Championship, at an average of 21.38. He has also scored 118 runs @ 29.50 this season and was part of the 2nd XI squad that made T20 finals day.
Morris meanwhile signed his first professional contract for the Club at the start of the year and has taken seven wickets in the Second XI Championship.
Several players impressed with the bat last time out for Glamorgan with Billy Root (98), Chris Cooke (86), David Lloyd (81) and Kiran Carlson (76) all making half-centuries as the Welsh county secured maximum batting points in their rain-affected match against Gloucestershire at Cheltenham.
On a placid wicket, the bowling attack toiled away to take six wickets and claim a further two bonus points to help them in their quest for promotion this season.
Though Glamorgan slipped to fifth place following the draw against Gloucestershire, the Welsh county have narrowed the gap to just six points off second place.
Their hosts this week, Derbyshire are bottom of the table, with three defeats and six draws in their nine outings this season.
View from the Camp - David Lloyd
"We're in a position now where we need to try and win those games and to be brave going forward.
"We've closed the gap on the top two and we need to build momentum now and turn the draws into wins to make sure that it's us in that second spot come the end of the season.
"Hopefully, the weather plays ball up in Derby this week and we can give it a good go and be in a really positive position at the end of this week".
Head-to-Head - Derbyshire vs Glamorgan
The two teams were involved in a high-scoring contest last year at Derby with Glamorgan set a target of 331 in 55 overs on the final day. Despite a spirited stand between Marnus Labuschagne and Sam Northeast, the game ended in a draw. The Welsh county had been victorious on their previous visit to Derby in 2019 when they successfully chased 246 in 79 overs with Andrew Salter and Tom Cullen guiding their side to victory.
The game at Derby in 2018 saw a ten-wicket haul by Tony Palladino guide Derbyshire to a 169-run victory. Glamorgan had opted to bowl first on the green-tinged surface but Billy Godleman rode his luck in his team’s first innings before the seam and swing of Palladino saw him scythe his way through the visiting line-up, with only Chris Cooke offering any lengthy defiance.
