Glamorgan County Cricket Club have secured a deal with high-end Cardiff gym UFit as the club looks to continue its move towards ultra-professionalism.
The gym, based in Cardiff's Trident Park, offers high-spec gym equipment which can be used by the Glamorgan squad on training days and pre-season.
Tom Turner, Glamorgan Cricket Strength, Fitness and Conditioning Coach, who took the squad down to sample the facilities on Wednesday, was delighted to seal the deal.
He said: "I am extremely pleased the club have secured a deal with U-fit gym in Cardiff. The facility is super and has no gaps in the equipment available to use. I am excited to make this a regular venue this winter for the delivery of our strength and conditioning program."
Tom's sentiments were echoed by Glamorgan Cricket's Head of Commerical Michael Temple.
“Cricket fitness has been revolutionised in recent years with the advent of full-time strength and conditioning coaches and the desire of the players to bowl faster and hit further,” said Michael.
“It was clear when we first visited UFit that the fitness industry has raised its game beyond recognition and our players have been reinvigorated by the quality and choice of the facilities.
“It¹s an incredible set-up that's absolutely unique in Cardiff and we¹re delighted to have a partnership in place that equips our players with everything they need to maximise their athletic prowess."
Glamorgan's players will be making the long trip to Hove this weekend for their Specsavers County Championship clash, before three T20 Blast clashes next week, at home to Sussex Sharks, away to Middlesex at Richmond before a return to The SSE SWALEC to face Gloucestershire on Sunday July 10.
