Head Coach Robert Croft has named a 14-man squad to face Surrey in a showdown clash under the lights on Friday night.
After last night’s round of games, Glamorgan drop down to fifth place and now trail Sussex by a point heading into their final Vitality Blast South Group game against Surrey on Friday night.
The South Coast side ran out four-wicket victors against Gloucestershire, while Kent confirmed their qualification to the knockout stages by defeating leaders Somerset.
The Welsh county will now have to overcome Surrey and see other results to go their way to progress into the quarter-finals for a third consecutive season.
The two sides met earlier in the season with Glamorgan prevailing, subsequently maintaining their 100% success rate in the shorter format at The Oval.
Despite being ravaged by injuries the last time out, the Welsh county chased down a hefty target of 195 with Kiran Carlson producing a maiden half-century in the 20-over format and Graham Wagg hitting an unbeaten 46* alongside Andrew Salter who secured the win for Glamorgan.
Salter has been an ever-present force amongst the bowlers and wants the Welsh county to replicate the character the team showed in their previous encounter with Surrey.
“It’s nice for us that we can look back on that game because it was a great win and put smiles on all of our faces,” said Salter. “With the crowd we get on Friday’s, I'm sure it’ll be a great atmosphere and we’re all looking forward to it.”
The Pembrokeshire spinner has been content with his own contributions and believes his teammates can move on from recent defeats and put themselves in with a chance of qualifying for the knockout stages with a win on Friday night.
“As a group we’ve gone back to what we know,” added Salter. “We look at what’s gone well for us in this competition. It’s a fun format and we’re still enjoying it with the unpredictability that comes with it.
“The games come so quick and fast that you can only concentrate on the next one. For myself that’s what I look to do and not dwell on the past too much.
“As soon as I'm bowling and I have the ball in my hands, all I’m thinking about is where it’s going. In terms of stuff we can’t control, it’s pointless dwelling, we’ll look to do what we want to do to and do it as best as we can.
“I’ve been quite happy with my performances,” continued Salter. “But again, that’s the nature of T20 cricket where there are always going to be spells that go for a couple more than I wish. Generally I'm pretty happy and looking to keep my economy rate low and pick up some wickets as I go along. Friday is going to be a massive one and I'd love to get a couple of wickets.”
