Head Coach Robert Croft has selected the same squad for tonight’s trip to Old Deer Park for the clash with Middlesex.
Shaun Tait made his return to Glamorgan last night after last playing for the team 6 years ago and is expected to spearhead the seam attack with Timm van der Gugten and Michael Hogan who both performed so effectively in tandem with Craig Meschede and Dean Cosker in last night’s success against Sussex Sharks.
Captain Jacques Rudolph will lead the side again as Glamorgan return to Richmond aiming to follow up their success at the venue on the last two occasions, most recently in 2014 when Rudolph and Allenby’s 136 run stand laid the foundations for an emphatic victory.
Glamorgan can take another major step towards quarter-final qualification if they beat Middlesex, with a home tie against league leaders Gloucestershire to come on Sunday at The SSE SWALEC.
In-form batsman David Lloyd, who has hit a half-century in each of his previous six innings in white-ball cricket – is enjoying his run of form and finding his natural rhythm.
Lloyd said: "Playing international players last year, I would have been a bit nervous, but this year it’s natural, I’m more confident and more relaxed going into games and not working myself up.
“The vibe at the moment is really good in the squad and if we can win our next two games we’ll be pretty much in the quarter-finals, hopefully at home, so we go into the Middlesex game very confident, against another strong team, but we’re on a good roll at the moment so hopefully we’ll keep it up. We want to win every game right now.”
Lloyd was also full of praise for the bowlers for their bowling display in restricting the Sussex run chase, “The boys bowled really well they kept it really tight, Tait, Mesch, Timm, Hoges and Dean didn’t give away many four balls, which meant wickets came our way.”
