Glamorgan Chief Executive Hugh Morris has revealed the criteria that he will use to recruit a new Head Coach following the departure of Toby Radford.
A comprehensive document, detailing key responsibilities including selection, player development, culture and coaching, invites applicants to submit a letter of application, CV and details of three references before Wednesday 20 January.
Interviews will take place at the end of January and an appointment is likely in early February.
It's critical that we make the right appointment but we're also mindful that the successful candidate will need time to plan so the timetable is tight, said Hugh.
We feel that there is a real opportunity to build on what's already in place here and the new Head Coach will want to stamp their own mark on things so we're optimistic that the progress that we made last season can continue.
There's been no shortage of contact from people in the game keen to learn more about the role or even to float one or two names of others who they feel would be a good fit for us.
Our job is to consider each and every application on its merits and to create a shortlist of potential Head Coaches that warrant the opportunity to present their vision at interview.
Assistant Coaches Robert Croft and Steve Watkin have been placed in temporary charge of team affairs while the search for a permanent Head Coach takes place.
We would expect to receive internal applications for this role in addition to those from outside and everything will be judged on merit, said Morris.
Steve Watkin has ruled himself out but will continue to have a key role to play in our coaching team.
This is an open recruitment process and every candidate will start from the same point.
Essential knowledge, skills and experience include an ECB level 3 coaching qualification, a record of success in cricket coaching and five years in a professional environment whilst desirable elements include an ECB level 4 coaching qualification (the most distinguished qualification in UK cricket), two years leading a high-performance programme and first class playing experience.
