Head Coach Robert Croft has named an unchanged 13-man squad for today’s Vitality Blast match against Kent at Sophia Gardens.
The Welsh county will be looking to bounce back from Friday’s loss against Gloucestershire at Cheltenham.
Glamorgan fell to a 30-run loss to their local rivals but Captain Colin Ingram is keen to take the positives from the defeat, in particular the form of Ruaidrhi Smith who impressed with both bat and ball, taking 2/25 and then striking a quickfire 18 not out.
“We made one change for the game with a fresh opportunity for Ruaidhri and he came in and grabbed it,” said Ingram. “He bowled really nicely up front and gave us a different option in the middle period. He got a couple of polls and with the bat we know he’s quite dangerous. The last shot he played of the game – where he carved the ball over point for six – shows great signs for us."
Glamorgan now sit sixth in the table with four points from five matches, however Ingram believes his side aren’t far away from going on a run in the competition and has put the onus on individuals to come to the fore.
“We need to get into the swing of things and I don’t feel we’ve quite hit our rhythm yet. We need players to stand up and win us the game now,” added Ingram.
“We’ve got a good team culture and we’re in a good space and all it takes us an individual to put their hand up now and guts it out and get us over the line and it’s a fresh opportunity on Sunday.”
