Head Coach Robert Croft has named a 13-man squad for tomorrow’s Specsavers County Championship match against Middlesex at Lord\'s.
All twelve members of the squad that won at Bristol last weekend feature, with the addition of Ruaidhri Smith to provide another seam bowling option.
The inclusion of Smith means nine Glamorgan pathway players are included in the latest squad, with Aneurin Donald, Lukas Carey and David Lloyd all celebrating key celebrating key milestones in the Welsh counties win.
Donald surpassed 2,000 first-class runs, while Carey racked up 50 first-class wickets and Lloyd produced a first-class best 119 in a strong performance by the county's young stars.
South African Marchant de Lange will be looking for another successful outing after claiming eight wickets and hitting an unbeaten 50* in the win against Gloucestershire. The fast bowler has reiterated his intention to become more consistent and is relishing his first visit to Lord's.
"I'm looking forward to playing at Lord's because I've never been,” said de Lange.
“It's my first time being there and it has always been the historical place to play so I'm really looking forward.
"Consistency is key in our type of sport so for a bowler it's a good start getting in the wickets, but the key is to maintain it. Obviously I'm very happy with the unbeaten fifty and eight wickets, but It's a good start to the season from a team perspective and hopefully we can build on it this coming weekend.”
It's been seven years since Glamorgan last played a Specsavers County Championship at Lord's – a nine-wicket win for the Welsh county – with de Lange hopeful Glamorgan can repeat that success.
"I think it's going to be a great game. If we stick to our basics we're going to build on the good foundations already here and if we can carry on doing that we'll do well in this competition. There's a good feeling in the camp.
“Going back to the old saying, we want to keep building momentum and we're striving to create a winning culture. If every guy gives their all out there and pushes to be as successful as they can, I think we can have a good season."
