Glamorgan Head Coach Robert Croft has named an unchanged squad for the Welsh county’s crucial NatWest T20 Blast clash with Kent in Cardiff tomorrow (Friday) night, starting at 6.30pm
The squad includes pace duo Dale Steyn and Timm van der Gugten, as well as the spin pairing of Dean Cosker and Andrew Salter.
Cosker is currently on 98 career T20 wickets and will be targeting the ton against the likes of Sam Billings, Tom Latham and Sam Northeast on Friday night.
For South African star signing Steyn, it will be his penultimate match in Glamorgan colours before a stint in the Caribbean Premier League. The Welsh county will then welcome Australian quick Shaun Tait for the second half of their T20 campaign.
After rain forced the abandonment of Glamorgan’s clash with Somerset at Taunton on Wednesday, captain Jacques Rudolph wants his side to continue their impressive form in white-ball cricket in another mouth-watering encounter at The SSE SWALEC.
He said: “Our team will take a lot of confidence into Friday night. For most of these white ball matches our batters have been striking the ball nicely and it will also great to have Dale (Steyn) back for the T20."
After a stunning five-wicket win over Hampshire in their last home T20, Glamorgan will be hoping to repeat the feat against the Spitfires.
Rudolph added: "It was good to see a good crowd (for the last T20 match in Cardiff) and hopefully we can see the same again on Friday.”
Kent have also named a 13-man squad for the trip, with David Griffiths in for Matt Hunn, the only change from their previous match. England star Sam Billings joins New Zealand batsman Tom Latham and captain Sam Northeast in a strong-looking Spitfires side.
Glamorgan 13-man squad in full: Jacques Rudolph (capt.), David Lloyd, Colin Ingram, Aneurin Donald, Chris Cooke, Graham Wagg, Craig Meschede, Dale Steyn, Timm van der Gugten, Dean Cosker, Michael Hogan, Andrew Salter, Mark Wallace.
Kent’s 13-man squad: Sam Northeast (capt.), Joe Denly, Daniel Bell-Drummond, Tom Latham, Sam Billings, Darren Stevens, Alex Blake, Fabian Cowdrey, Matt Coles, James Tredwell, Mitch Claydon David Griffiths, Ivan Thomas.
