Jacques Rudolph said his Glamorgan side are in \'relaxed mood\' ahead of their mouth-watering T20 Blast clash with Surrey in Cardiff tomorrow (Friday) night.
The match sees league-leaders Glamorgan take on second-placed Surrey at The SSE SWALEC, and a victory for the Welsh county would be a giant leap towards a quarter-final berth.
Rudolph said his team are in good spirits after a profitable run of form in white-ball cricket, followed by a hard-earned draw against Kent in the Specsavers County Championship this week.
The South African scored 34 not out to steer Glamorgan to victory in the reverse fixture against Surrey at The Kia Oval back in May.
He said: "I think the guys are very excited (for the Surrey game). We’ve got good momentum in white ball cricket and hopefully that can continue.
"There’s a nice relaxed mood around the camp at the moment when we play cricket now and I think that’s been showing in the team’s performances."
Rudolph was confident that his compatriot Colin Inrgam would be back in the side for the match. Ingram didn't feature in the four-day encounter with Kent this week, after being rested.
Rudolph added: "(The four-day) game gave him an opportunity to rest and hopefully he’ll be back on Friday and ready to go.
"At the moment, the focus for us is in the white ball competitions and it’s not worth risking somebody of his calibre – he’s our in-form batsman at the moment in T20s and 50-over cricket – so we’ve got to keep Colin on the park whenever we can.
"But if that means he doesn’t play four-day cricket, then so be it. It’s good to have David Lloyd, Aneurin (Donald) and Braggy (Will Bragg) all in good form too."
The Surrey match will also mark Dale Steyn's final appearance in a Glamorgan shirt. The Proteas quick has taken nine wickets in four matches for the Welsh county since signing from IPL side Gujarat Lions and Rudolph was quick to laud the impact of his fellow countryman.
Rudolph added: "Dale’s been brilliant for us on and off the field. He’s brought world class experience to our dressing room and the way he’s been speaking to the guys has been fantastic. He will definitely want to go out on a high."
