Glamorgan were shortlisted in two categories at this year's ECB Business of Cricket Awards, held at Edgbaston, which recognise off-the-field excellence across the first-class game.
Shortlisted in the Community Engagement category for the pop-up cricket clubs outreach activity to target children in the south of the city and also for the Innovation in Facilities Award for the CC4 Museum of Welsh Cricket, Glamorgan were piped to the post by Warwickshire's community efforts and Lancashire's multi-million pound development of Emirates Old Trafford respectively.
Owen Burgess said, This is the first time in a few years that our efforts have been recognised at BOCCA, so to be shortlisted is a step in the right direction.
There was a lot of talk at the event about the upcoming major match bid submissions so it was important for us to feature at the Awards, even if we didn't take home any of the prizes.
The Museum of Welsh Cricket has already received award recognition with the Kieran Hegarty Innovation Award at the Celtic Media Festival at the start of this year, whilst we know we need to invest more resource into our Community programme, engagement with our local communities has improved and we now need to spread this across Wales.
The awards judging panel, which consisted of industry experts from a variety of sports, made awards in different categories to Warwickshire, MCC, Nottinghamshire, Surrey, Lancashire and Worcestershire.
ECB's Chief Operating Officer, Gordon Hollins, said: These awards once again demonstrate the outstanding work our First Class counties did off-the-field last season to raise the profile of our domestic game and help attract a record number of spectators to the NatWest T20 Blast competition.
As always, our judging panel were given the unenviable task of picking the winners from an outstanding pool of nominees. We thank them for their efforts and warmly congratulate all our winners whose hard work and creativity helped make 2014 such a memorable season for all concerned.
