Glamorgan Cricket has signed South African opening batsman Stephen Cook as their overseas player for the remainder of the 2018 season.
Cook will deputise for the injured Shaun Marsh and will be available for Glamorgan's final four Specsavers County Championship matches, starting with their away match against Derbyshire on Tuesday, 4th September.
The 35-year-old is highly experienced at both international and domestic level and has struck 44 First-Class centuries, including three Test match hundreds.
He has amassed over 14,000 First-Class runs during his career at an average over 40 and with a highest score of 390.
Chief Executive, Hugh Morris said: "We are delighted Stephen has joined Glamorgan for the rest of our campaign. He is a proven run scorer and will add valuable experience at the top of the order.
"While we continue with our strategy of developing young Pathway players it is important they play alongside experienced batsmen, like Stephen, which will help their development going forward."
