Head Coach Robert Croft has named an unchanged 13-man squad for Sunday’s first home Royal London One-Day Cup match against Surrey.
Glamorgan enter the match having defeated 2015 champions Gloucestershire in Bristol on Thursday by 18 runs under the Duckworth Lewis method.
Captain Jacques Rudolph struck his 18th List A hundred in the match and also went passed 10,000 List A career runs in the process.
Fellow South African Colin Ingram enjoyed a fine all-round game scoring 45 runs and taking 3/39 in the death overs which included the prize wicket of Gloucestershire Captain Michael Klinger.
There were also fine opening bowling performances from Glamorgan List A debutants Marchant de Lange and Lukas Carey who put Gloucestershire firmly on the back foot as they reduced the home side to 33 for 3 from the opening nine overs.
“Both Lukas and Marchant bowled really well,” said Rudolph. “Obviously it’s nice from a Captain’s point of view to have someone like Marchant in the team who has that extra pace and X factor and also Lukas who is a really good new ball bowler.
“From a personal point of view I’ve felt like I’ve been hitting them well for the last six weeks even though the scores don’t suggest that. It was nice to spend some time in the middle and put together some runs for the team.”
Last year’s finalists Surrey possess a powerhouse batting line-up which includes England International Scott Borthwick and Sri Lankan legend Kumar Sangakkara, but having registered their first win of the season, Rudolph believes his side can carry the momentum forward into Sunday’s game.
“It’s good to get that first win under the belt," said Jacques Rudolph "and it was a nice start to the white-ball format.
“The last few weeks have been quite tough for us even though we played well in Leicester, but the camp is in good spirits and hopefully that will continue against Surrey.
“It’s going to be business as usual for the game, focusing on what we did really well on Thursday.
“The dressing room know that in the last few years we’ve beaten them quite a few times so we can take that confidence into the match, but they are obviously a very good team and have some high calibre players so we’ve still got to respect that as well.”
Following Sunday’s game against Surrey, Glamorgan will then play an away game against Sussex Sharks at Hove the following Tuesday before playing Somerset at The SSE SWALEC on Friday.
This year’s competition has been moved earlier in the season, to allow the NatWest T20 Blast to be played in the school holidays and the ICC Champions Trophy to be played in June.
