Head Coach Robert Croft has named an unchanged 12-man squad for Glamorgan’s final Specsavers County Championship match of the season against Leicestershire at Sophia Gardens.
The Welsh county will be looking to end their 2019 season on a positive note by securing their second win in the competition and first since the opening match of the Specsavers County Championship against Gloucestershire.
They face a Leicestershire side who are in good form having defeated Durham by an innings last week, however they will be without overseas star Mohammad Abbas who has joined up with his Pakistan teammates ahead of their series with Australia.
Despite his absence, Captain Michael Hogan believes they will still be tough opposition given the experience they possess throughout the team.
“They’ve been playing some good cricket recently as shown by their win last week against Durham,” said Hogan.
“Obviously Abbas was the standout performer from the game but they have quite a senior group with some experienced First-Class cricketers who can put in match winning performances day in day out.
“That experience is something we don’t quite have right now through the side, but hopefully in a few years and with matches under our belt, those guys will become the seasoned players we need.
“We want to finish the season off on a high this week with a win and then go into next year with confidence.”
