Glamorgan welcome Surrey to the SSE SWALEC on Friday, June 26th in their next match in the NatWest T20 Blast, with the contest scheduled to start at 6.30pm (Gates open at 5pm).
Glamorgan are currently in sixth place in the table, with Surrey bottom of the group and the Welsh county will be looking to bounce back after their defeats last Friday night to the Essex Eagles at Chelmsford and then to the Sussex Sharks on Sunday afternoon in Cardiff. Glamorgan still have games in hand over two of the teams above them, but after the ten wicket defeat on Sunday, their net run rate is inferior to the teams above them.
Glamorgan beat Surrey by 25 runs when the two teams met in mid-May at The Kia Oval in the opening group game, with Colin Ingram scoring 91 from 47 balls and Jacques Rudolph 62 from 39 balls as they saw their side to a record-breaking total of 240/3. Their supporters will be hoping that they can repeat this form on Friday night, especially after the handsome victory over Surrey in the LV=County Championship last week at Guildford.
Surrey won last summer's match between the two sides at Cardiff where with South African Hashim Amla making a half century before Irishman Kevin O'Brien launched a counter-attack on the Glamorgan bowling which helped to lay the foundation for a 17-run victory.
In the game at Cardiff in 2011 the South London club had come out on top again as Zander de Bruyn struck an unbeaten 70 to see his side to an 18-run win. Glamorgan however were victorious in July 2010 when a spell of 3/25 by Jamie Dalrymple saw Glamorgan record a ten-run victory.
