Glamorgan's resounding win by 95 runs under the Duckworth-Lewis Method on Tuesday against Somerset at Taunton saw them move up to sixth place, but Warwickshire's comprehensive victory over Surrey at Edgbaston saw them overcome the abandonment of their match on Sunday against Kent at Rugby School and rise up into second spot.

Glamorgan have an outstanding record in recent times in the Twenty20 competition against the Warwickshire having completed home and away victories in both 2012 and 2013. As far as the List A games are concerned between the two sides, the most recent encounter was washed out at Edgbaston in 2009.

However, Glamorgan were successful in August 2008 defeating Warwickshire under the SWALEC Stadium floodlights by 130 runs as the Bears were sent home with sore heads after a superb bowling performance by Jason Gillespie. The Australian produced a spell of five wickets for just six runs in 39 balls as the visitors slumped to 29/8 before a late rally saw them finish on the slightly more respectable total of 88.

As far as Warwickshire's visits to Swansea have been concerned for limited overs contests against Glamorgan, they were victorious in a Twenty20 game at the St. Helen's ground in 2005 by 54 runs. The meeting between the two teams at Swansea in the National League in 2000 ended in a tie, after Matthew Elliott and Steve James had each scored half-centuries. The rain then intervened leaving the visitors a target of 202 in 38 overs, but some miserly bowling by the home attack saw Warwickshire finish on 201/7 as the game ended in a tie.

Warwickshire were victorious in the List A match at Swansea in May 1991 when they beat Glamorgan by 13 runs after Any Moles had posted an unbeaten 93 whilst medium-pacer Tim Munton produced the exemplary figures of 8-1-15-1 to thwart Glamorgan's run-chase. Glamorgan's most recent List A success at Swansea over Warwickshire came in the Sunday League encounter in June 1981. On that afternoon over thirty years ago, John Hopkins made 75 and Javed Miandad a spritely 73, before captain Malcolm Nash took 4/31 to see his side to a 15-run victory.
