Glamorgan meet Gloucestershire in their next group match in the Royal London One-Day Cup, with the 50 overs contest taking place on Tuesday, April 30th at Bristol with play getting underway at 11.00am
After their comprehensive 64-run victory against Surrey at Cardiff on Sunday, Glamorgan are in seventh place in the table. In contrast, Gloucestershire are currently in fourth spot after their stirring four-wicket success over Somerset in the West Country derby and harbour ambitions of reaching the knockout stages of this competition.
Gloucestershire were victorious last year in the corresponding game at Sophia Gardens where Chris Liddle claimed for wickets before George Hankins struck 85 and Chris Dent 80 to see the West Country side to an eight-wicket victory.
However, Glamorgan had won the previous two List A encounters in 2017 and 2016. In the former the Welsh county won at Bristol by 18 runs with Jacques Rudolph making 121 before Colin Ingram took 3/39. In June 2016 at Cardiff Glamorgan defeated Gloucestershire who, at the time, were the reigning Cup holder. A fine 75 from Will Bragg saw Glamorgan to a competitive total of 289 before Graham Wagg and Timm van der Gugten made their way through the visitor’s batting line-up as the Welsh county eased to victory by 52 runs.
Gloucestershire were victorious in May 2013 when they met Glamorgan in List A cricket with the visitors winning at Cardiff by seven runs, and again in August at Bristol, albeit by the slender margin of two wickets.
