Head Coach Matt Maynard has named a 12-man squad for our LV= County Championship fixture against Worcestershire.
The Welsh County welcome the Pears to Cardiff, still searching for their first win of the season despite a supreme performance at Headingley.
Michael Neser became the first Glamorgan bowler since Robert Croft in 2010 to take a hat-trick, as he recorded career-best bowling figures of 7/32 in the first innings.
Marnus Labuschagne, who plays his final Glamorgan home game before joining up with the Australian Test squad, was also in scintillating form.
He scored a gritty half-century in the first innings, before striking an unbeaten 170 in the second innings, showing once again why he is the premier red-ball batter in the world.
Glamorgan couldn’t force a win, however, with the game reaching the final ball in a thrilling conclusion, Yorkshire escaping nine-wickets down.
Glamorgan head into the fixture still in 5th place in the Division Two table after drawing four games, while Worcestershire sit one place above the Welsh County with one win, one loss, and two draws in their season so far.

"We have been a bit up and down in terms of results. We haven’t lost a game yet, or won! We are just trying to find that consistency.
“I think the last couple of games we have found that. The performances have improved so there’s a lot to look forward to this week.
“Timm and Ness have been incredible this season so far, but to see James Harris and Jamie McIlroy bowl the way did was great, as they work extremely hard to get better week in and week out.
Head-to-head – Glamorgan vs Worcestershire
Glamorgan bossed their game last weekend against Yorkshire at Leeds and came within one wicket of recording their first victory at the Headingley ground since 1999 as a pulsating game of cricket ended all square with Yorkshire’s last pair at the wicket. Worcestershire were also engaged in a drawn game against Sussex at New Road and are in fourth place in the Division Two table, five points ahead of Glamorgan who remain in fifth place after their dramatic draw against the Tykes.
Whilst Glamorgan are still waiting to record their first victory of the 2023 season, Worcestershire have one success under their belt, having defeated Derbyshire by eight wickets in the opening round of matches a month ago. Nevertheless, Glamorgan can boast in Timm van der Gugten the leading bowler in Division Two cricket this summer with the Dutchman having already claimed 21 wickets at just 21 runs apiece.
The two sides drew their fixture at Cardiff last summer, but Worcestershire held the upper hand after 172 by Gareth Roderick allowed the visitors to enforce the follow-on before rain washed out play on the final afternoon. Glamorgan’s most recent victory in Championship cricket against Worcestershire at Cardiff came in 2013 when the Welsh county won by ten wickets in a contest which saw Mike Reed, claim 5/27 in the visitors first innings before Jim Allenby struck 78 before taking 4/27 to put Glamorgan into the ascendancy.
The 2019 visit of Worcestershire to Cardiff saw Marnus Labuschagne score a century in each innings whilst Brett D’Oliveira, who will be leading Worcestershire at Sophia Gardens, scored a hundred as the game ended in a draw after Glamorgan had set the visitors a target of 326 in 66 overs.
Museum Tours
A visit to the CC4 Museum of Welsh Cricket is also part of the match-day experience at Sophia Gardens. The Museum is situated on the first floor of the National Cricket Centre and contains a number of displays celebrating the long and proud heritage of cricket in Wales.
Amongst the displays in the Museum are special ones celebrating the long-standing friendship between Don Bradman, the Australian batting maestro and Doug Davies, a club cricketer here in South Wales. There are also special displays celebrating the 75th anniversary of Glamorgan winning the County Championship for the first-ever time in 1948, as well as another celebrating the success of Welsh schoolgirl Sophia Smale in playing for Western Storm, The Oval Invincibles and the England Under 19 team earlier this year in the World Cup in South Africa. There are also a number of second-hand cricket books and old Glamorgan Yearbooks on sale in the Museum. The Museum is usually open from 1000 until the end of the tea interval.
