Murray Goodwin scored a century but Glamorgan 2nd XI lost their Second Eleven Championship match against Derbyshire 2nd XI at Cardiff CC.
After batting first, Glamorgan 2nd XI made 289 with Murray Goodwin top-scoring with 108, whilst Stewart Walters made 54. For Derbyshire, Mark Turner claimed 6/79 from 19 overs. The visitors then secured a small lead on first innings, posting 310 with Greg Cork, Chesney Hughes and Raqib Hassan all scoring half-centuries.
Batting for a second time, Glamorgan were dismissed for 183 with Tom Lancefield top-scoring with 49, whilst wicket-keeper Gary Knight made an unbeaten 35. On the final day, Derbyshire raced to their target reaching 163/2 in just 28 overs with Hughes posting an unbeaten 83 in partnership with Wes Durston as the visitors beat the weather and Glamorgan by eight wickets.
Please note that the Second Eleven Trophy match between Glamorgan 2nd XI and Lancashire 2nd XI will take place at the SWALEC Stadium on Tuesday, August 5th
