Michael Hogan has been named Glamorgan Cricket's and St Helen's Balconiers Player of the Year 2014 at the Annual Awards night at the Tower's Hotel, Swansea for the second year in succession.
Hogan followed up a stellar debut season in county cricket with Glamorgan in 2013, by again delivering consistently high performances in all forms of cricket, claiming 98 wickets in total. His 63 wickets in the LV= County Championship this year at an average of 19.55 runs apiece, along with 35 wickets in limited-overs cricket has seen him join the '200 wicket club' in in only his second season with the Welsh county and earned him the recognition of being named in the BBC Sport County Team of the Season 2014
At the Glamorgan awards event there were a number of other notable winners. Following the increase in the number of games for this year's NatWest T20 Blast, all-rounder Jim Allenby claimed the inaugural Glamorgan T20 Player of the Year Award following his outstanding performances with bat and ball and leading the team to the quarter-finals. Allenby, Glamorgan's T20 Captain, hit only the second-ever T20 century for the Welsh county, when he scored 105 against Middlesex Panthers at Richmond and amassed 548 runs in 14 games, amongst the best in the tournament as well as picking up 7 wickets as Glamorgan came within one run of making it to Finals Day for the first time since 2004.
Jacques Rudolph in his first season with the Club picked up the List A Player of the Year for his superb performances with the bat in the Royal London One-Day Cup, including a sensational record-breaking unbeaten 169 against Sussex at Hove. His contributions in the T20 Blast and the County Championship made him the top run scorer for Glamorgan this year, finishing just shy of 2,000 runs in all formats.
Four-Day Player of the Year Chris Cooke finished the summer on top of Glamorgan's first-class batting averages with the man who scored his maiden hundred during an innings of 171 against Kent at Canterbury and ended the year with 870 runs at a healthy average of 43.50. Will Bragg also ended the summer with the highest overall first-class aggregate amassing 1008 runs at an average of 36.
Andrew Salter echoed Hogan's achievement with the main award by collecting the Young Player of the Year Award for the second successive season. Salter continued his progress making 24 first team appearances in all formats in 2014, including being a regular member of Glamorgan's T20 Blast squad, with best figures of 2-19 against Lancashire Lightning in the rain-affected quarter-final at Old Trafford.
Other winners included:
Stephen Lang Academy Player of the Year Dewi Penrhyn Jones

As well as Michael Hogan scooping the main award, The Balconiers also presented the Gerry Munday Memorial Award for the Most Improved Young Player of the Year to Chris Cooke following his debut maiden first-class century and 2nd XI Player of the Year award went to David Lloyd for the second year running.
