Michael Hogan admitted it would be fitting for Glamorgan to clinch victory in Dale Steyn\'s final game for the club – and praised the influence of the South African on the Welsh county\'s dressing room.
Hogan, who has taken nine wickets in five matches in this season's NatWest T20 Blast – while Steyn has the same number in four matches – said Glamorgan would be doing their utmost to send him off with another victory.
The Australian quick said it had been a pleasure to play alongside the former Test World Number One bowler in the past month, as Glamorgan's bowlers have proved successful.
Hogan said: "It’s been brilliant having Dale. Having the chance to play with one of the best fast bowlers to play the game is something you can tell your kids about.
"Watching him going about his business, he’s very professional and passionate, and it is really good to see that when he takes wickets he gets fired up.
"It’s good for us as players and it’s good for the fans as well. He’s been really good for us, helping out with the academy bowlers and that’s the type of guy he is. I can’t fault him."
Hogan also spoke about the upcoming Surrey match, taking place tomorrow night at The SSE SWALEC, as first take on second in the T20 Blast South Group.
For Hogan, it is another crucial game in Glamorgan's quest for a quarter-final place. And he admitted Surrey, with the likes of Dwayne Bravo and Kumar Sangakkara, will pose a major threat to Glamorgan's hopes of claiming a fifth T20 victory in seven matches.
Glamorgan began their 2016 T20 campaign with a landslide eight-wicket win at The Kia Oval over Surrey and will be hoping to repeat the feat on Friday night.
The Australian added: It’s always a big game against Surrey. They’re a good side with some world class players so it will be nice to keep our white ball form rolling.
"In the short formats you can get on a roll, gather more confidence and that makes you harder to beat.
"You don’t want to count your chickens before they hatch but (a home quarter final) is the target. We’re in a good position and there’s still some hard work to be done, but the guys are playing some good cricket."
Glamorgan currently sit top of the South Group with four wins, one no-result and one loss from their six games so far. Their clash with Surrey gets underway at 6.30pm at The SSE SWALEC, Cardiff, on Friday night. Secure your seats by clicking here.
