I’m here to bowl a lot of overs and to contribute with ball and bat - Harris

All-rounder James Harris is excited and raring to go as he gears up for our next LV= County Championship against his former County, Middlesex, tomorrow.

Harris re-joined the Welsh County after 9 years away in London and is set to make his return to the starting XI, against his old Club, after he missed the stunning victory against Nottinghamshire last time out with illness. Though he is excited, he admits it will be a strange feeling.

'Yeah, it will be a strange feeling,' Harris said. 'There’s a lot of boys in that team who are my best mates that I’ve spent the last nine years with up in North London. It’ll be a strange experience but one I’m very much looking forward to and it’ll be nice to see some familiar faces.'

'Glamorgan have had a fabulous week. To go up to Trent Bridge against the team that have been touted as the favourites for Division 2 before the start of this summer and to come away with a really strong performance and a victory leaves a great taste in everyone’s mouths and feeling really positive about where they’re at and where the team is at. It’s about building on that, and we’ll try and do that again this week as we get started tomorrow.'

'(Being back at Glamorgan) It’s fabulous. It feels like a different lifetime ago. I can’t quite believe, starting as a 16–17-year-old, what that was like and how far away we are from that now. That’s 15/16 years ago. I’ve changed a lot; I’ve grown up a fair amount. I’m losing a bit of hair compared to back then, but I feel like I’ve got a lot of years left in me. I want to contribute and I’m really excited to be back in South Wales. To have the family down here with me is fabulous, they’re enjoying it. All in all, it’s been great so far.'

'That’s what my goal is, that’s what I’m here to do. I’m here to play, I’m here to bowl a lot of overs and to contribute with ball and bat in every game I can do. I don’t like missing games of cricket, having to miss last week, it’s never a pleasant experience for a professional. I want to play week in week out, and hopefully I can do that throughout the year and stay in the team and prove my worth with my performances.'
