Seamer Timm van der Gugten took 3/26 to help restrict Sussex to 161/7 on day one of their LV= Insurance County Championship match at Hove.
Returning to the side, he combined well with opening partner Michael Hogan (2/33) to put Glamorgan on top despite only 55 overs possible due to overnight rain and further showers.
"We had pretty nice conditions to bowl in, it was overcast and the ball was swinging around, so I thought we all bowled really well as a group and it was nice to finish on a wicket with the last ball," said van der Gugten.
"We were probably going to bowl first, but you never know what's going to happen overhead. The ball hasn't swung much this season with the red Duke but this was a bit different and it was nice to capitalise on that.
"Ibrahim had a pretty good game plan and he kept to it. They’ve got some good kids down here. It doesn’t happen that often [a batsman, Travis Head, walking for an lbw]. I don’t know. It was maybe doing a bit too much, potentially. But I’ll take that one.
"Them having won the toss and batting, we would have taken that [score] and hopefully we can knock over the last three wickets and get batting."
