Dimuth Karunaratne\'s century gave Sri Lanka coach Graham Ford some solace after a second draw match in two games for the tourists ahead of the first Investec Test match on Thursday.
Karunaratne hit an unbeaten 100 on Day Three as Sri Lanka finished on 200/4 at Grace Road before a draw was called.
A low-key affair began with Sri Lanka being dismissed for 367, with Dasun Shanka hitting 112 in the lower order. Leicestershire replied with 375/5 declared as Sri Lanka's bowlers toiled for the second tour game in succession after being dominated by the Essex batsmen a week ago.
It hasn't been an ideal tour for Ford's bowling attack so far, but experienced slow left-armer Rangana Hewrath took 2/39 while fellow left-arm spinner Milinda Siriwardana took 2/57.
It was also confirmed that Dhammika Prasad has been ruled out of the first Test. Prasad injured his shoulder while bowling against Essex last week and, although it was described as nothing more than a 'niggle' at the time, Ford confirmed it was more serious.
"He's not available for the first Test and it's an ongoing assessment, on a daily basis," he said.
"I am hoping that we can get him bowling again fairly soon. Then we'll have to build him up and get quite a number of overs bowled in the nets in order to prepare him for potentially the second and third Test."
Ford was also content with the improved display, after Sri Lanka were forced to salvage a draw against Essex, but were much more convincing with the bat against Leicestershire.
He added: "It was nice to see a couple more (batsmen) finding form," after batsmen including Kaushal Silva, Lahiru Thirimanne and Kusal Mendis got starts.
England entertain Sri Lanka at The SSE SWALEC, Cardiff on July 2 in the ODI series finale. Tickets available here.
