Glamorgan\'s Australian paceman Michael Hogan has only bowled 10 overs after a blow to the head while batting against Sussex yesterday (Sunday) – and captain Jacques Rudolph is recovering from a badly bruised hand.
Hogan, who retired hurt for 19 at the end of Glamorgan's first innings, was taken off on a precautionary basis before being assessed by the Welsh county's physio Mark Rausa this morning.
The 35-year-old Aussie quick re-emerged on Day Three, bowling seven overs before lunch and three after – but left the field again without bowling any more overs.
Rudolph whose innings of 87 anchored the Glamorgan innings on Day One, was struck on the hand and taken for an x-ray, which revealed some bruising and no break.
The Glamorgan medical team will continue to work on the South African's hand in the hope that he can bat in the second innings when required.
Glamorgan's new T20 signing Shaun Tait, 19-year-old Callum Taylor and assistant coach David Harrison have all stepped in as fielders on an injury-hit day for the Welsh county, with Mark Wallace acting as on-field captain in the absence of Rudolph.
