Glamorgan CCC has now breached 25,000 ticket sales for England’s limited overs internationals against Australia and India next summer - a record for the Club at this stage of the year.
Tickets to the Australia fixture are selling four times faster than the 2016 ODI fixture against Pakistan, while the India IT20 has sold more than twice as many tickets as the South Africa IT20 by this date last year.
Australia return to Cardiff for the second of a five-match ODI Series on Saturday 16 June, the first time the Aussies have been back since the 2015 Ashes defeat to England.
The Welsh county then host world no.1 T20 team India next year, who will be looking to retain their unbeaten record in Wales when they face England on Friday 6 July.
Tickets for the two internationals went on sale for the Cardiff clashes in October, in a synchronised ECB launch with venues across England and Wales.
The Riverside, Members’, Castell Howell (formerly Cathedral Road), Pro-Copy and Discover Leeks Pavilion Stands are all sold out for both matches, with only Category B and C tickets now available in the Foster’s Grandstand and Croeso Stand.
In all, there are currently less than 1,500 tickets left for the Australia game and just under 3,500 remaining to be sold for the International T20 match between England and India.
While tickets have been selling fast, 2018 members can still enjoy access to tickets with a £10 discount for a limited period.
Glamorgan Chief Executive, Hugh Morris said, “Australia and India are prestige international fixtures and with the Ashes about to start and India possessing some of the best players in the world, there has been huge appetite to see these great sides in Cardiff next summer.
“Tickets to the matches continue to sell at a record pace and we advise those people that do want to come to either game to book as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.”
This follows the success of the 2017 Internationals hosted at The SSE SWALEC, where attendees ranked the “View” & “Stadium Atmosphere” at 9.0 & 8.9 out of 10 respectively, as Glamorgan bolstered their position as a premier International venue.
Tickets are still available priced from £38 for adults and £12 for juniors. Tickets can be purchased online at www.glamorgancricket.com/tickets or by calling the Box Office on 02920 419 311 (Monday to Friday).
