It has been a tough week - Harrison

Glamorgan fell to a third consecutive defeat in the Royal London Cup as they lost to the Essex Eagles by 103 runs.

The Welsh county were asked to bowl first as the hosts amassed 341 in their innings thanks to centuries from Feroze Khushi and Tom Westley. Prem Sisodiya impressed on List A debut with figures of 2/42.

The Glamorgan innings never got going, however, though Sam Northeast struck a maiden List A fifty for the Welsh county.

“It’s been a tough week.” Said head coach David Harrison.

“Three defeats in a row are never ideal. I thought maybe they got too many runs, especially the way the ball turned in the second innings.

“We were looking for that big partnership. It threatened a couple of times when Kiran and Sam were there. We needn’t someone to go on and get a big score, but it didn’t happen. Now we need to win three games next week to give ourselves a chance in the competition.

“We’ll have a think about it tomorrow, reflect on the last couple of games. We’ll have a chat as a selection group and see if we can improve things for Wednesday.

“We’ve tried to play the same way as we did last year [when we won the competition] but it hasn’t worked out this week, we just haven’t been good enough in the three games, haven’t played well enough and haven’t deserved to win. We need to address that this week.”
