Glamorgan romped to their first victory in this year’s NatWest T20 Blast with an 18-run win at Arundel against Sussex Sharks.
Batsman Colin Ingram blasted a 46-ball hundred (the fastest for the county in T20 cricket) and shared a record stand of 130 in 11.5 overs with Jacques Rudolph (49) and 61 with Chris Cooke (37*) as Glamorgan plundered 134 runs in their last 10 overs to set Sussex 199.
Sussex lost wickets consistently throughout their innings and despite a century from Luke Wright, some fantastic death bowling from Timm van der Gugten and Michael Hogan took Glamorgan to victory.
"After the last game when I missed out on a good wicket, it was great to get a bit of flow today, get in and enjoy the sunny conditions,” said Ingram. “I'm not too phased with records but it was great to get the win.
"We put together some nice partnerships after losing wickets early, myself and Jacques Rudolph rebuilt and got some momentum to the innings then Chris Cooke finished really well.
"I enjoy my bowling and it was nice to contribute there. Luke Wright batted nicely as well as I thought he was playing an innings that could take it away from us, but our death bowlers closed it out."
