Jockey Club Services, which offers a range of world-class business services to organisations in professional sports in the UK, today announced a new partnership with Glamorgan County Cricket Club to deliver ticketing at The SSE SWALEC for the next three years.
Jockey Club Services' ticketing platform this year alone will process more than 1.5 million tickets for The Jockey Club's 15 racecourses in the course of staging events including the Crabbie's Grand National, the Cheltenham Festival and The Investec Derby. Glamorgan CCC will receive a top grade 'enterprise class' ticketing solution, supported by a team of ticketing experts from The Jockey Club's Business Services department.
The agreement follows a successful trial when Jockey Club Services efficiently delivered the sale of 70,000 tickets for the first Investec Ashes Test Match staged in Cardiff this summer.
Beyond ticketing, since its inception Jockey Club Services has provided procurement services for 12 football league clubs and 5 county cricket teams, live music to The Ageas Bowl and has created the Rewards4Cricket Loyalty programme being pioneered by Hampshire CCC and Durham CCC.
Hugh Morris, CEO of Glamorgan County Cricket Club, said:
We were very impressed with the professional approach adopted by Jockey Club Services to ensure our Investec Ashes tickets sales process ran smoothly from start to finish. We knew we were in safe hands given their team's experience and their investment in technology. It was not a difficult decision to want to work with them on an ongoing basis to provide the ticketing for all our events at The SSE Swalec from the start of the next cricket season.
Rob Quick, Director of Jockey Club Services, said:
Ticketing is one of the key business services Jockey Club Services is able to offer. Hugh Morris and all the team at Glamorgan CCC have been fantastic to work with through our Ashes trial and now we have a long-term partnership to look forward to. The Jockey Club's major investment in ticketing means the solution we are offering from one sport to another is genuinely world-class. It allows us to pass on significant economies of scale to other professional sports organisations, which will only increase as new partners come onboard.
