Leicestershire have been deducted 16 points in the LV= County Championship and fined £5,000 following a CDC Disciplinary Panel hearing today at Lord's.
The Disciplinary Panel chaired by Gerard Elias QC with Mike Smith and Ronnie Irani, convened to hear a charge brought by the ECB against Leicestershire Cricket in respect of five or more separate occasions when cricketers registered with them committed fixed penalty offences in a 12-month period, to which the club pleaded guilty.

The points deduction is immediate but the fine will be suspended for a period of 12 months and will be imposed if Leicestershire players commit a further two fixed penalty breaches within that period. In addition Leicestershire were ordered to pay £500 towards the cost of the hearing.

Leicestershire are now 32 points adrift of Kent at the bottom of LV= County Championship Division Two.
