New NatWest T20 Blast signing Wayne Parnell is keen for Glamorgan's good form to continue ahead of this weekend's double header against local rivals Gloucestershire and Somerset.
Parnell, who joined South African compatriots Jacques Rudolph and Colin Ingram in Toby Radford's T20 Blast squad, made his debut during the defeat to Hampshire on May 29 taking 2-23.
And Parnell says Glamorgan will take the same aggressive mind-set that served them well in the subsequent nerve-jangling win over Middlesex, into this weekend's fixtures.
He said: I think we're obviously going to look to be attacking in this T20 format. Those cameo performances at number 5 or 6 - getting 40 runs off 20 balls - they can really change the game.
Parnell is hoping he can continue to set the attacking trend with a rapid opening spell, after missing the first two matches of the T20 Blast campaign through injury.
He added: My body is holding up nicely now and it's nice to be back playing and playing for Glamorgan. I have thoroughly enjoyed it.
The 25-year-old from Port Elizabeth also hailed the influence of the SSE SWALEC crowd after they roared the team to a crucial win last Friday night but says when he is steaming into bowl, nothing can break his concentration.
Parnell said: When I'm fielding down on the boundary it's nice to interact with the crowd and have good banter, but once I actually start bowling I try and blur everything out.
Once you cross the boundary rope it's time for business and I want to do well for myself and for the team
We want to focus on what we can do. We have identified things we let ourselves down with in the last couple of days.
Parnell, like his skipper and fellow countryman Rudolph, will be hoping the Welsh county can blend controlled aggression and focus to good effect this weekend.
Glamorgan currently lie in sixth position in the T20 Blast South Group, with Somerset level on points just one place above them in fifth. Gloucestershire have been the surprise packages in the competition so far and sit second in the table.
