Glamorgan batsman David Lloyd was disappointed to miss out on a second County Championship hundred in three games, but says he is growing in confidence as a batsman.
Lloyd hit 99 to guide Glamorgan to 330 all out on Day Two against Gloucestershire, a lead of 68 on first innings.
Speaking to BBC Wales after an evenly-balanced day at The Brightside Ground, Bristol, Lloyd said: "I'm disappointed not to get over the line, but it's nice to keep contributing to the team. We've got ourselves a lead and hopefully we can take a few early wickets."
Lloyd and Graham Wagg again put together a big partnership as Glamorgan recovered from 167/5 to reach 330, but it came at a cost as Wagg was hurt on the left arm by a rising delivery from Craig Miles.
Lloyd was then dismissed for 99, caught by Graeme Van Buuren off Miles.
He added: "Graham Wagg's injury wasn't ideal, but those things happen in cricket. It was a nasty blow. The swelling came up straightaway. He's a tough one so, for him not to be able to carry on, he must have been in quite a bit of pain."
The Welsh allrounder reiterated how his confidence is growing with every innings. Lloyd's last six knocks in first-class cricket have been: 99, 107, 4, 0, 59 and 105*.
He said: "The confidence of getting your first century means you know how to go about your innings and the pressure's off, but hopefully I can keep on doing well for the team."
