SEATING

Due to ongoing maintenance work, the Grandstand and Castell Howell Stand will be out of operation for this fixture.
Members and supporters will be able to watch the match from the SA Group Stand, Members’ Stand or Thatchers Pavilion.

HEALTH AND SAFETY

We are pleased to confirm that Covid-19 restrictions inside the venue have been lifted and we have returned to unallocated seating this season. The wearing of facemasks is no longer required.

Please rest assured that despite the easing of restrictions, the safety of our Members and supporters remains of primary importance and we continue to implement thorough cleaning procedures and good hygiene practices at the stadium.

We ask that stadium visitors remain considerate and respectful whilst at the venue and remember that other Members, supporters and staff may have ongoing health challenges that may affect them or their close families.

Maintain sensible distancing where possible and do not come on-site if you have symptoms or if you have tested positive.

STADIUM UPGRADE

Sophia Gardens is now 14 years old and has needed refurbishment and an upgrade for some time.

Over the winter, the Club has undertaken a major maintenance project around the ground to improve facilities and enhance our customer experience. We have been busy replacing more than 12,000 old seats, painting the stadium infrastructure and upgrading the toilets.

With work around the stadium not yet complete, the Grandstand and Castell Howell Stand will be out of operation for the opening matches of the LV= County Championship season.

While Members and supporters will be able to watch live action from the SA Group Stand, Jellyfish Family Stand, Members’ Stand or Thatchers Pavilion, we would like to apologise for the inconvenience caused and ask for your patience as we complete this much-needed work.

CATERING

The Lewis Lounge is once again open for Members and can be found on the 2nd floor of the National Cricket Centre.

In a change to previous seasons, Glamorgan will now be offering Members a plated lunch service in the Lewis Lounge on County Championship matchdays. A pre-order system will be introduced in the hope that this will assist the hospitality team cater for all requirements in good time. We will kindly be asking Members who wish to dine with us at lunchtime to pre-order and pay for your meal choice from the lounge menu by 11:15am on each matchday. Your pre-ordered meal will then be available to collect from the lounge during the lunch break.

Tea and coffee service will also resume for Glamorgan Members in the lounge from 10am to 11am and 3:30pm to 4:30pm.

Kiosk 4 underneath the Thatchers Pavilion will be open, where tea and coffees, snacks and sandwiches will be available.

Dinky Donuts will also be on site.

Please note: we are still operating as a cashless stadium so please bring card payment rather than cash.

SUSTAINABILITY & SCORECARDS

Sustainability has long been an important topic at Glamorgan and this winter we have undertaken several initiatives to reduce our waste and become more sustainable as a Club.

As well as appointing Joe Cooke as our sustainability champion and setting up a ‘Green Team’ to look at improved ways of working, we have installed water fountains throughout the stadium to aid our push to stop the reliance on single-use plastic.

Further initiatives include moving away from plastic cups to eco-friendly reusable ones in our Members' lounge. We will supply Members with porcelain mugs for their teas and coffees pre-match and during intervals rather than disposable coffee cups. Please note that Members will be unable to take these outside The Lewis Lounge, however, our catering team will be happy to fill Members' flasks before you return to your seats.

In our public areas, we have removed plastic single-use disposable pint glasses.

The Club is also looking at ways of reducing our paper waste and we have identified the printing of scorecards as a potential method.

We realise that scorecards are important to our Members and will therefore print a batch on day one only of our LV= County Championship fixtures, for collection from the Club shop, Reception or the Lewis Lounge. Digital versions will be available to download and print at home via our Match Zone on the website.

CLUB SHOP

The Official Club Shop will be open for all four days, 10-5 pm. Our brand new 2022 shirts are available in-store and also on the Masuri shop website.

2022 yearbooks are also available to purchase from the shop or online. More info can be found here
