All-rounder Craig Meschede was keen for Glamorgan to press home their advantage against Derbyshire at Colwyn Bay after taking three wickets to put the Welsh county in charge.
Meschede took 3/33 yesterday (Monday) to reduce Derbyshire to 177 in reply to Glamorgan's mammoth total of 518, whle all the other bowlers chipped in.
Graham Wagg and Andrew Salter took two apiece and Owen Morgan, Michael Hogan and David Lloyd each grabbed one wicket as Derbyshire faltered in the face of some accurate and hard-working Glamorgan bowling.
Former Somerset all-rounder Meschede admitted it had been Glamorgan's best Specsavers County Championship performance of the season so far.
He said: "I think the game's going very well, it's in Glamorgan's hands, the boys have toiled really hard to force the follow-on.
"Without a doubt it's been the best Championship performance since we haven't started too well in this competition, but we've been playing well leading up to this game and it's nice to see the rewards."
Meschede and his Glamorgan teammates will be hoping to wrap up the win today. Derbyshire are 78/1 – still 263 runs needed to make the home side bat again. Play resumes at 11am.
