Glamorgan County Cricket Club Chief Executive Hugh Morris hopes to continue the trend of sell-outs for England internationals at The SSE SWALEC as tickets for next year\'s England internationals against Australia and India went on general sale today.
Fans flocked in to fill the Cardiff venue to enjoy England’s successive victories over Australia in the 2015 Ashes Test Match and T20 International, whilst the 2016 ODI against Pakistan and the 2017 International T20 against South Africa were also sell outs. With two of the most popular international opponents visiting the Welsh capital in 2018, Morris anticipates full houses to continue the trend in Wales.
“International cricket is vitally important to the Club as the proceeds allow us to invest in our professional team, our venue and our community schemes,” he said.
“The competition to host these games is fierce, but we are building a record that shows cricket fans embrace international cricket in Wales with sell outs here in eight of the last ten days of England internationals in Cardiff.
“We’re fortunate to have two very exciting fixtures next year with an ODI against the old enemy Australia on Saturday 16 June, before England come up against Virat Kohli’s India in an International T20 on a Friday night in early July. These games are sure to attract a committed audience that feels compelled to support our matches and we’re confident in our ability to successfully host these fixtures now and in the future.”
Ticket prices start from £38 for adults, with a family ticket, valid for 2 adults and 2 juniors, priced £88, while under 17s can secure discounted seats priced £12.
Tickets went on general sale at 10am today with 2018 Glamorgan members having already enjoyed priority access.
